New happenings

Wow, I have been a bum, lol. I didn't realize I had slacked for so long.

Well, the spring/summer was busy, busy.
Spring break was spent traveling. We saw Portland, stayed a couple days in Seattle (LOVE western Washington), drove to Forks, WA just to see where Twilight was filmed (BIG disappointment, as it was filmed around portland, next time we'll do our research :-/). Beautiful area though, and worth the drive to La Push beach as well.
In Seattle, we saw Pike Place Market (5 hrs of walking), Seattle Aquarium, Space Needle, Science Fiction Museum/Experience Music Project, Children's Science Museum, Woodland Park Zoo (All during the cold, constant drizzle, with a wicked earache, but enjoyed myself THOROUGHLY).
I'm dying to go back to Seattle!

Attended the first annual Exhibitor's Edge sale in Moses Lake, Wa. Fun trip with my sis, much needed together time :-). Picked up two nice young does for really good prices, missed a few as they went out of my budget, but over all, wonderful event. The Parker's had lots of cute kids and some puppies! Looking forward to next year....

In July, drove to Des Moines, IA to drop off my Great Dane to his new owners. LONG trip that just got longer as we wanted to stop and see as much as possible! TONS of beautiful country, especially Iowa. We stopped in Winterset, IA to see the John Wayne birthplace (actual house he was born in!), and then drove around and saw all the bridges of Madison County (AWESOME! I still haven't seen the movie, lol). Spent the night in Elkhorn, NE to see the Danish Windmill, saw a fountain based on The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian-Anderson, and ate at a traditional Danish buffet (DELICIOUS!!). Stopped in Minden, Ne. to see the Pioneer Village. Lots of cool stuff, but was kinda dusty and expensive. The motel there looks like it hasn't seen an update since 1970 lol, but clean.
Would love to go again!

Ryan borrowed a buck from EGGS. He is out of JFJ Jerico Farms Big John. AWESOME young buck, who is breeding my girls as well as Ryan's. We're looking forward to showstoppers this spring! Fingers, toes, legs (and anything else you can think of) crossed!!!

Well, I'm tired of typing, so off for now...

Updates

Hi,
I've been slacking the past few months. So much going on, and just not been in the bloggin mood.

Well, the herd now lives in Marsing at Ryan Kish's place www.rrkranch.com
We just weren't able to keep up with everything, so had to outsource. They are doing great and starting to kid.
We had a set of twin girls born on New Year's Day from Sara and Kronk (owned by Drue & Noel Reynolds).
Just waiting for the rest to kid.........I love babies!!

Hoping for a few nice wethers for the 4h crowd, but who knows.

Off 4 now,
M

Puppies

Molly had puppies on the 18th. The event was.............interesting.
We checked her temp. at 4pm, and it had not dropped. We then went out to dinner, and came home. We went to bed at around 10. I woke up at 12:50 for a drink. Mom noticed molly had a pup!! I sat and watched until 2:30, then called the vet because she wasn't contracting. We made a 30min run to the vet in Council, and he gave her a shot of Oxytosin (sp?). She had the other 3 within 20mins. We thought she was done, so headed home. (I digress....We had her x-rayed on the 10th, we only counted 4 pups). We got home, the puppies settled and went back to bed. At around 7:45 mom heard Molly yelp, but nothing was going on. She went to get a drink, came back and there were 3 more!! So, we ended up with 7 females! They are so tiny and cute!

Transportation

Hello!
We just got back on Friday from Portland. We took off at 4am Wednesday and drove our '96 Windstar to trade it in for our new (to us) '98 Grand Caravan with the Braun/IMS conversion to where I just drive my chair into the passanger position, and go. No more lifting me into the seat, then loading the chair into the back with flimsy ramps. Now anyone can take me places!!
I also got a '79 Datsun 810 2-door coupe in July. It's a fun little project, but needs work to be reliable. I'll probably trade it off soon along with my truck, but not sure yet.
Weather is getting cold..........grrr.

New stuff

Hey All,
I finally got a picture up of RRK Gianni. Not the best picture, but still looks nice. I still need a picture of Sissy, and a better one of W10. I put more information on the dogs' pages.
Molly should whelp around Sept 21st.
Registrations and transfers are nearing completion. Once W10's papers are back, I'll transfer her and 103 to ABGA. Parker's AKC papers are due back this next week.
Water is almost ready to be run to the barn, just have to buy Freeze Proof Hydrants, and dig trenches.

All for now............

Re-organizing...

The herd has taken on a new focus here. I've been wanting to go to strictly fullbloods for awhile now, but have been putting it off since I was attached to my percentage girls. Well......today we took ALL percentages to the auction. It's bittersweet......
Afterwards we went to Ryan Kish's and picked up Shep Ranch Sissy, and while there borrowed a super little buck out of his buck Change & T4 Cappuccino!! Will be using him on Sissy, and the other two girls are bred to Oz.
The pens are looking empty, but that just means room for building up the fullbloods :).

Updates

Well, it's been awhile since I've written.
Lots of happenings here. The does took a vacation to Drue's house while things dried up here. The got home a couple weeks ago along with their guardian, Pearl, a Pyrenees female and W10 a nice Fullblood doe. We took a trip to Fernwood, Id to pickup my male Pyr, Jack. I'll have pictures soon.
I'm going to sell my percentage herd to focus on Fullbloods only. Selling Oz, and will just borrow a buck or have someone AI.
The barn is still in a state of unfinishedness (is that a word?). Waiting to get water a power run, before the siding goes on.
The pastures are greening up nicely, and will get the does moved down soon. Putting in another 80x160ish pen on the hill, and two 100x60ish pens with hotwire for temp grazing.
My mini schnauzer Molly had a beautiful male pup on 4-23. Groing like a weed :)
Went to the TVDGA show in Homedale to pickup the otherdivider for my trailer from Lauri and Henry. Saw lots of beautiful goats. Good thing I was broke, I would've come home with lots of dairy goats :D

All 4 now.......
